Places to See in Santiago de Cuba

The city is a veritable stockpile of history, nature and the man made marvels. You can go to downtown Santiago de Cuba for a stroll in the parks or Barrio El  Tivoli, the decrepit fashionable spot of yore with narrow steep streets and dilapidated wooden houses. The four hundred year old Cathedral de Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion and the castle Castillo El Morro at Bahía de Santiago would bring back the glory of the yester years with its daily ceremony, “Puesta del Sol,”. The archeological heritage and exotic paintings of Goddess Minerva can be seen at Pio Rosado y Aguilera. The 17th century cemetery, Cementerio Santa Ifigenia  is home to the departed leaders of Cuba.
