Cienfuegos
The Pearl of the South, the beautiful city of magnificent beaches and bays is Cienfuegos. The city of two hundred thousand people, just 150 miles from Havana forms the paradise on the southern coast of Cuba. The rich aboriginal and Hispanic history adds to the legendary charm. The region before the Spanish settlers took root was known by the name of Cacicazgo de Jagua. The port of Cienfuegos has been an important trading zone for sugar, coffee and tobacco exports and holds similar importance even today.
