Places of Interest in Cienfuegos
Jose Marti Park is the most important park in the city and especially so with a part to play in the naming of the city. The Cienfuegos Boulevard, the pedestrian walk of the park, the street lined with exotic trees, connects it to the Paseo del Prado, the main artery of Cienfuegos. You can find traditional wooden houses and old mansions like the Palacio del Valle. The peninsula with residential, recreational and traditional facilities has now been converted into a National Monument.
Palacio de Valle
The palace has now been converted into a chic restaurant and an antique shop. The seafood served here is the major attraction of the restaurant. The palace architecture is also a queer mix of ornamental Mohammedan styles. The ambience with the serenade on piano is just the romantic setting for honeymooners and if it happens to be a Saturday then you have live Salsa.
The Tour de Parks
The city is replete with parks and nature resorts. The parks offer the scenic beauty of the tamed nature along with tastefully decorated restaurants, bars and cafes. The largest of the parks in Cienfuegos is Park Marti. Go for a walk on the manicured lawns or sip the Cuban coffee or even have the special Mochito drink at the bar; the best would be to do all.
